Alright lets see how smart all of you people are?

I just got a simple question. Can you put a red eared slider turtle inside the tank with a 1.5 foot american alligator. The turtle is 5 inches long. the tank is 50 gallons.

Is there a reason for what?Putting the turtle in with the gator?
I don’t know, you’d have to ask the person that has their 5in res in a 50g along with a 1.5 foot American alligator.

I would assume the area to be too small. My memory is clouded but a 55g is barely, if that, large enough for the gator alone. The adding of another terrestrial animal to an area that’s largely occupied to begin with would be rash.

And, even if they could somehow fit, one may consider the other as food. Often, turtles will nibble/eat on young crocodilians and with the lack of space, I would bet the happening.

Are you really the one to see how smart we are?

i know im not really on this forum a lot but it seems as though this person is just trying to stop being bored or tick ppl off. as previously stated, that cage is to small for the gator and mixing species is not a good idea if you are inexperienced enough to not have even a large enough cage.

Krok Hun your right

Too small for that large....I wont "comment"Im behaving myself *grin* for once

regardless if the question s "can they coexist together" the answer is yes HOWEVER if the question is ca n they be kept in a 50gal then NO its too small for JUST the gator, much less adding something else.....

Hell, you can put anything you want in with it. I’m thinking about putting my neighbor’s cat in with my caiman.

of course you can, but you are in dangering both reptiles, the turtle will eat the feet of the gator, the gator will attack anything you put in his cage, they eat turtles in the wild, not to smart
