 New to owning a alligator lizard

I don’t have any other way to heat my lizard other than a lamp am i to wait to turn of the lamp till i have a heat rock or should i do it at night? Baby Nothern alligator lizard is what i have.

A lamp is fine, maybe better than a heat rock, but don’t overdo it. Measure the temperature. You want a hot spot of about 85 F. Not the whole cage, just the hot spot. Too much heat is as bad as too little.
The water should be easily accessible, like in a jar cover or other container that is very shallow. The feeder insects should at least occasionally be dusted with a vitamin/mineral power like Eco-terra. Don’t handle the little guy too much at first; it stresses them out and prevents them from feeding.
