 Soil for my alligator lizard

I’m apologize ahead of time if my question offends anyone due to my lack of knowledge regarding lizards. I have cared for blue bellies in the past but this is my first time caring for an alligator lizard. I have a soil known as "miraclegro potting mix with compost". Will it be wise to use this for my lizards?

No, it may contain harmful fertilizers especially if it gets mixed with the water (which should be in a low dish or jar lid so it’s easy to find). I like aspen or cypress cage litters e.g. Forest Floor. Both allow for some burrowing and are free of irritating oils (don’t use pine or cedar). I don’t like sand; it has the potential to plug them up and cause intestinal impactions.
