 Food question

Hi. I caught my pet lizard over the weekend. Mine is still very small. It is probably 1 year old. I have a question about the food source. I don’t have a lot of crickets where I live and I don’t have any mealworms what so ever. Mine is a wild caught Allie. So can I feed it rollypollys and earwigs. Right now we are giving it orange juice. Any thoughts would be great.

Don’t know about OJ; it doesn’t seem natural; I’d be careful. Get some reptile vitamin powder to coat the insects with and you can probably use just about anything. Many years ago a friend of mine raised a young one up on rolly polly’s and springtails; it seemed to do OK.
One trick is to take some compost, put it in a funnel over a jar, and put a hot lamp over the funnel. Remove the compost as it dries. This forces all the little bugs in there lower and lower until you have a jar full of feeder insects.

 Food question

If they arn’t too big, I’d suggest flying termites.they are soft and squishy and my allie likes them.(unless flying termites don’t live where you live)

my allie and her babies wont eat a lot of bugs and stuff, i don’t know why.

she wont eat: rolliepollies, wood-bugs, beetles, earthworms, beetle larvae, meal-worms, slugs, snails, millipedes, moths, spiders and fruit flys.

out of all the ones iv tried she will only eat house crickets, Field crickets, grass hoppers and locusts.

I don’t think you should give them moths, I read somewhere that a certian kind of moth was poisinous to allies.
