Washington Alligator Lizards? Is there anyone from Washington with Alligator Lizards? I have one that I caught about a year ago and I think that it is a female. I have another that I just caught I think that it is also a female. I tried to put them in the same tank and the "old" lizard did not like the "new" lizard. They are separate now. I was wondering if they are capable of getting used to each other. Also, I am curious if they are livebearers or if they lay eggs. Most people with alligator lizards are from down south of me, so I am just curious.

Washington Alligator Lizards? Depends on the species. Both Northern and Southern Alligator lizards make it up to Washington. The Northern is live-bearing, the southern lays eggs.

Washington Alligator Lizards? Yeah, I live in Bellingham. You are just across the line from me. Did your lizards mate in their cage or did you find a pregnant one? Because I have two females now and I would like to raise some baby lizards. Also, did your babies require any extra care; besides an extra tank? How many of them survived?

Well to answer your question ... they are pretty hard to cake care of.
unlike southerns they were given birth and probably have less yolk and nutrients inside them to support.i kept them in a separate tank and the mother was already pregnant when i caught her.
i had 7 but only 5 survived...it was pretty sad but many babies usually dont survive.
pinhead crickets are always recomended for baby lizards.
