 BABY ALLI FEEDING QUESTION

I had just caught a baby ali in my kitchen the other day and it’s only 4-5 inches long. The question is what do I feed it? I’ve had full grown Ali’s in the past and those were easy to take care of. It’s hard to find food small enough for it to eat, and it doesn’t seem to be interested in small pillbugs, earwigs, etc. I’ve tried feeding it mealworms, but those are too large, and it attempted to eat one that I cut in half, but it didn’t finish it.

Anyone who could help me with baby ali feeding info would be much appreciated.

 BABY ALLI FEEDING QUESTION

Ya I was planning on doing that. I had found a few small earwigs and it ate those no problem, but I’ll probably go with the pinheads anyways. Thanks for the reply.

 BABY ALLI FEEDING QUESTION

Feed it daily and make sure you feed the crickets a nutritious diet (I use fish flakes and orange slices) for at least 24 hours before offering them to your lizard. You should dust the crickets with a phosphorus free calcium powder with vitamin D3 at every feeding ( I use Rep-cal). Without this supplementation young als usually develop metabolic bone disease very quickly.

 BABY ALLI FEEDING QUESTION

This baby has a very strong orange color to it. Does that mean that it’s a male or do all babies have vibrant colors?

BTW, i bought small crickets and he’s eating them no problem. I feed about 2 crix a day cause of their small size. I’ll have to invest in that Rep-cal powder--can’t say I’ve ever used it before.

Thnx to all for the advice. he seems to be eating regularly and has found it’s sleeping/basking spots in its enclosure which means that he’s getting used to his surroundings. Hopefully he can develop properly. I’ll post some pix soon when he’s a little bigger.
