 SHARKY’S GONE!!!!!

Once again, it is 100% illegal to purchase or sell alligator lizard. Both parties could be heavily punished in California, including banning you from ever owning another one.

Second, what is the new lizard? Alli? Did you catch it? If you are touching ANY wild reptiles you need a permit, even if it is just for a second. Please be a bit more responsible in both the care of these lizards and your choices.

Alligator lizards are not known as tame lizards, they are known as highly aggressive lizards that can cause injuries requiring stitches. It natural to them. If you want a tame lizard that you can pet and carry around, you should look into a different, non-wild, species that is legal to own in the state of California.

Its not illegal everywhere. Different states and countries have their own laws.
Allies are legal to own as long as you follow all the rules of owning them.
People on youtube most likely caught their own allies.
What species of alligator lizard are they selling?

I doubt the law about not purchasing or selling alligator lizards in California has ever once been enforced. Most reptile laws were made with only a moments thought. The important reptile laws to obey are the ones about endangered species, and dangerous species. Otherwise most of the laws for reptiles are even less significant than jaywalking or loitering laws.

I don’t know what part of California you are from, but where I’m from they do punish people. I’ve talked to friends, officers, and other forum goers that will tell you stories of being punished or handing out punishments. About 6 months ago I contacted someone who posted a for sell ad regarding an alli in a near by city(I was interested in taking him for free if the other party would agree), but by the time he replied to my email an officer had actually called him and thus he decided to take it to be turned over. I believe you underestimate California’s officers.
