 New Agama .. advice (pic)

HI i have new agama and am looking for advice on handling him and also eating habits. I have a 2ft tank with heat mat , water, bark, rocks and lots of hanging plants. I also have a UV 5% light. Any advice and tips would be great. He has been sexed as a male but seems quite small so far. Thanks.

Pick up the May 2007 issue of REPTILES magazine. There was a large article on this species.

Hey, your Dragon Agama look pretty cool.Yes it is a male, the green lines down the back of the Agama shows that its male. Dragon Agamas are small lizards fast on their feet so the agamas take quite a while to become tame, taming is possible but will take alot of time, I recomend starting handleing inside the enclosure and then procede outside the enclosure when feel comfortable on your hands. If a reptile needs UV rays then I always use a Repti-Glo 8 or 10. In the wild the sun gives of the same rays weather in the desert, forest or savannah so therefore I always use a UV 8%. They also like to not be TOO warm, around 80F ambient air temperature with a basking spot of 90F, dropping around 5-10 degrees at night, they do require the enviroment to be a little humid, around 60-70% humidity.
