Are you having problems with your new ones you just got from the show? I hope you remembered to quarentine them.
Good luck with the tick thing.

Carmelita only with the ball pythons. i knew what i was getting into when i bought em. I saw they had ticks. But there adults and can breed this year if i can get em to eat. It felt like a risk worth taking since they were only 15$ each. The female is a monster.

I have em all seperate waiting on stules and seeing if any of them eat or act weird. I might take to the vet if i notice anything. But my only fear is if they start star gazing (then i have no choice but to put em down).

I really hope it all turns out Ok. I am not too familiar with BP pricing, but if he was selling them for $15, maybe he knows something you don’t...Not yet anyway.

What do you mean the female is a monster, just big?

If you do notice "Star Gazing", don’t jump the gun too soon.
If it is Inclusion Body Disease, yes, that will be the end of your python, but there are other things that could be wrong besides IBD, with that same symptom. Just make sure first.

If you should notice it, though, be sure to keep it FAR AWAY from the rest of your collection.

Good Luck!

Hey, Willy. You ck out that breeder for me? :)
The weather is getting warmer here in TX. I can prob have a rainbow shipped, worse case scenario. I have def decided on a rainbow, so I’ll be looking your way for advice.

As far as your tick issue -- the only way I know to get rid of ticks is w/ forceps or tweezers. Cleanse the area w/ a diluted betadine solution after removing the tick. You cannot drown them like mites. Oil, vasoline or alcohol may assist w/ the tick loosening its grip, but will not kill the tick.

It’s a dirty job, I know.

He wasnt there sorry. But i can ask some breeders that are around here see if any. But i didnt see the guy. I didnt see any rainbows. Most snakes like rainbows are abundant at shows in winter sense alot have there babies then.

Carm, i know i’m taking a chance there all in seperate cages i just hope it works. And by a monster i mean shes a big ole female. I had wc bps before there not the easiest, takes alot of patience. But the snakes i payed high dollar on (blood pythons) are doing great there extremely docile which is rare for bloods. One just shed a whole good shed. And both ate so everything going fine with em.

The bloods were 70 dollars each lol. Which is great for captive bred and there not agressive. Most ppl see bloods are mean but mine seem fine. i’ll post some pics soon for yuh.

I got the ticks off. I’m going to try to find the balls 1 night a month. Just gotta givem a cubby and a bowl of water. Makem comfortable and eventually they should eat. But takes tons of patience. i wont even handle till they eat.
