no they are not venomous..but yes they can be aggressive and bite... but it doesn’t really hurt, just a few pin pricks... .. please do much much at least a couple weeks of research on google before getting one...
but heres a small care sheet

Black Rat Snake

Colubridae; Elaphe obsolete obsolete.

Most specimens average 4 to 7 feet.

With proper care 15 to 20+ years should be achieved.

A pair of adult snakes can spend their entire lives in a 30 gallon tall terrarium with a secured lid. These snakes like to climb.

We recommend keeping these snakes on a paper substrate. This allows for faster and easier cleaning. Aspen or cypress mulch bedding also works well.

Provide a temperature gradient of 75F degrees on the cool end and 90F degrees on the warm end. No special lighting is required when keeping this snake.

Mice and small rats once a week. mous/rat the 1-1-1/2 the size of the thickest part of the body

Spot clean throughout the week with weekly full cage cleanings.

again do much more reserch thats just basic care provided...
