You can also additionally keep feeders in kritter keepers. I believe there is such a thing as a cricket keeper out there for just that purpose. |

If it’s a nonclimber like a leopard gecko, use a clear plastic storage container. They routinely stand up to heat pads for years on end, somtimes even decades. Having more floorspace to disperse no doubt helps, but still... sounds like you bought a defective heat pad. If you wan to play it safe, though, use a lamp dimmer on it to reduce the heat a bit. Anyway, though, you can get a pretty huge clear tub at Target, Walmart, whatever, for five or ten bucks. They tend to be significantly wider than a tank the same length, which means more floorspace and therefore a happier lizard. |
