 What’s your temp?

i live in mobile alabama, the deep south. it has been SSOOOO hot this week. it normally doesn’t reach temperatures like this until mid august. without the heat index, it has been a steady 102-107 every single day. with the heat index it is reaching about 115 degrees. OMG!!! it is sooo miserable. right now...at 10:20 at night, it is still 90 degrees outside. it doesn’t really get below 85 at night anymore. our house has an old air conditioning unit, and since it’s soo hot outside, the inside of my house has been about 80!
where do you live and what has been the temps?

In NY it’s been in the 70’s with rain every single day, which is pretty depressing since you wake up and go to bed to gray skies. It’s crazy how different the weather is, have to admit yours seems a lot worse than ours over here though.

we had an air conditioning repair man come out to check our unit. all he could do was clean the outside unit, and told us that basically it’s because of not enough insulation in the attick. he said that basically our attick was extremely hot and the air that passes through the air ducts gets warmed up before it gets to our house. so...we have to fix that problem for sure. today, at 6:30pm, it was a staggering 102 degrees....and that’s WITHOUT the heat index. with the heat index it was more like 115-120 degrees. we are begging for rain right now to cool things off. we have reached record highs for our area for this time of the year. normally it doesn’t reach these temps until august....and even then it doesn’t stay high for very long.

i don’t know what in the hell is wrong with the weather!

They’ve been here in Tenn EVERY day almost. And thankfully so, we’ve all but eliminated the ’drought’ conditions of the past couple years.

It’s rainy season here in Japan. 75-85 with 3-5 days of rain in a row followed by a cloudy day, followed by more rain.

Yeah, where I am the whole work-week is basically rain, and then the weekend might clear up a bit...but then the rain comes back by Monday. It’s been this way for weeks.

Hopefully by July 4 the sun will come out so we can barbeque :)

 What’s your temp?

oh, just noticed you live in florida. what part? my best friend lives in tampa. i talked to her today and i was telling her about how hot it’s been. she said it’s definitely not that hot there. i think one of the things is she said she’s been getting a good bit of rain. we are getting NONE! it’s soooo burning hot. at 7:30am this morning i was taking dogs in and out just to use the bathroom (i’m a vet tech) and by the time i got finished with the dogs i literally had sweat dripping off of my forehead....and i’m really not a profuse sweater. we can’t leave the dogs outside. we’ve had SEVERAL dogs come in with heat stroke, and some don’t make it. we’ve been having a lot of people in the area with heat stroke too. our ac is old and isn’t able to work hard enough to really cool our house down. plus, we need more insulation in our attick, which i’m sure is about 150degrees. so pretty much all day in my house it stays about 80-85 degrees, depending on the temp outside. MISERABLE!

we are right on the water too, being in mobile, so you think that would help, but no. i work north of mobile in saraland, so it’s even hotter there. i usually love summer, but now i can’t wait for winter again, lol. plus, i LOVE to sit out on my porch at night. i really haven’t been able to. either i start sweating even at 10:00pm, or the bugs will carry me away. i can handle some spiders, moths, lizards, etc, but i CAN’T handle roaches. and they come out of the woodworks when i turn my porch light on. not to mention the mosquitos that will absolutely carry you away. i stay with some sort of bug bites at all times. it’s surprising i don’t have malaria or something, jk, lol! i don’t want to give myself bad luck.

 What’s your temp?

i live about 2 hours away from mobile so it gets to 105 degrees (at least). the wierd thing is, i went to canada and it was FREEZING there. i go up to canada alot and it has never been that cold in the summer. it was about 55-65 degrees (the coldest summer in toronto since 1950!). but i’d still rather be in this heat then be cold.

btw, are you going to the pensacola reptile expo this weekend?
