sand sifter to get all the poop out, and then bake it in the oven at 300-350 for about 20 minutes

I actually agree with herpser. There’s no point in cleaning sand, all you’ll be doing is taking out the odd dead cricket or droppings etc, all the infectious bacteria would still be there. So it would just be best to get some new sand all together.

It’s not just bacteria, it also gets progressively dustier, which is terrible for their breathing. I say spotclean until it needs to be topped off. Then, instead of topping it off, get rid of it and start over.
