 What reptile should I get?

Hello all, I’m new here This is my first post, so be nice

I have an empty 55 gallon aquarium that I would like to use for a reptile of some sort. I came here first to do some research and figure out what I’d like to keep. I don’t have tons and tons of money to spend, so please don’t suggest something outrageous. I’d rather not have something that could kill me either I have thought about leopard geckos or an albino burmese python, but nothing beyond that. I’m keeping my high school’s 3’ long iguana over the summer and I’ve decided that reptiles are pretty cool and I want one. So I’m here researching and would like some input on what you guys think would be cool for a 55 gallon aquarium Thanks to all who reply!

a leopard gecko is a good choice but a 55 gallonmay be too big.i think a leopard gecko or maybe some anoles would be good to start off with. hope i helped.

Have you thought about a Ball Python ....burmese get way to big for a 55 gallon. so I think unless you can get a bigger tank in the future when it gets bigger a Ball Python would be a good choice.. and If you can get a bigger tank I can give you some information on Redtail Boa constrictors..burmese get way bigger than them and Boa’s are really docile. post back please

Well my bearded dragon was 130....so i kinda think thats alot so maybe like... a ball python, i mean a bearded dragon is way docile and easy to take care of but mine was alot for me =) .... u can get anoles or geckos but thats is alot of room for them!!!! Well i tried to help but my reptiles r pretty expensive cause i spoil them to no end!!!!! hehehehee!!!! sorry i thought i could have been more help guess not!!!

royal python, very low maintenance, cheap only costs me five dollars a month, live its whole life in a 30 gallon tank, 2 hides uth and water and very long lived had one for about three months now.

As for the bermese python, mine cost over $300 so--- yea. Geccos are great animals but they are lazy. A 55 gallon would most deffinatly be too large. You should get an animal that would enjoy the inclosure- not waste it. I dont know anything about ball pythons. But I would like to get a dessert rosy boa. There are lots of color variations from black to cream to my favorite- a orange and white striped one ( its called hypomelanistic) They are very tame, only get to 5ft and are supposed to be great for people who are knew to reptiles. They dont cost too teribly much either.
