Sexing and Characteristics:

Im not sure on sex but i think it is a female due to rounded tail and its cloaca(area behind legs) isnt swollen

Both

Substrate and Water Needs:

De-chlorinated, tepid tap water (MUST ALWAYS BE DE-CHLORINATED!!! if not it can damage its skin!)

Lighting and UVB:

Natural day light, only need light if you have live plants

Temperatures and Humidity:

Room tempreture but not above 24 degrees c or he/she gets really stressed

Heating and Equipment:

None, but if its a cold day i use a desk lamp to keep him/herwarm but if its very hot i let icecubes melt over the top and the water drips in (the ice cubes made with de-chlorinated water)

Caging Provided:

Reasonable sized, plastic tank size is N/A

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Live bloodworms, frozen krill and frozen whole cockle (s/he doesnt eat that much though) and sometimes dried shrimp and prawns

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Calcium pellets (to help his/her leg grow back, and it is growing s/he lost it after a fight with another newt in the pet shop!) but he only eats them if s/he is really REALLY hungry.

Maintenance:

Due to his leg i wash it out every day but when it grows back only once a week, wash his rocks and fake plants in hot de-chlorinated water only.

Some Words on this Species:

Very friendly and make great pets for begginers, easy to take care of (my first ever pet all of my own |although we have a cat|) mine is a little shy still though and he/she does sleep alot!
