Sexing and Characteristics:

The charateristics of these snakes are that they come in a variety of morphs. They have a very docile temperment. They dont grow very large. Sexing can be determined by poping or probing which should be done by somone with experience.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

Substrate for these snakes can be in a variety from repti bark to indoor outdoor carpet(astro turf). You can use almost anything exept cedar or pine products.

Lighting and UVB:

No special lighting required.

Temperatures and Humidity:

They do not need hight humidity 50-60% is fine .

Heating and Equipment:

The temperture should be 95 F in basking spot and 85 F every where else. They should be provided a water bowl big enough to soak in.

Caging Provided:

For one snake a 40 gallon should be adequate. 2 can quite easily be housed in a 55 gal.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

Until about 3.5 feet 1 mouse per week when exceeding that length 1 rat every 2 weeks.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

No supplements are required.

Maintenance:

Cage should be cleaned every month with spot cleaning in between.

This species is the best pet snake I have ever researched and owned. I would like to become a herpetologist and it all started with one ball python.
