Sexing and Characteristics:

Males will have an upside down V under the tail, Females will not.

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

Use indoor/outdoor carpet or paper towels. (NO SAND)
It may cause impaction.

Lighting and UVB:

A day bulb and a night bulb is needed.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Cool side 78-85; Warm side 85-92.
Humidity: A humid hide is needed. To make one you will need 1 plastic container, 1 paper towel, and some water.
Cut a small hole on the side of the container. Fold the papertowel to fit the shape of the humid hide. Put the papertowel inside the hide and put a little water on it to the point were it is damp (NOT soaked). Then put the lid on and set it in the tank over the under tank heater.

Heating and Equipment:

You can use under tank heaters if you want.(DO NOT USE HEATED ROCKS.)

Caging Provided:

A 10g is best for 1 Leo and 20g is best for 1-3 Leos.I have a 40 long and it works out well. Dont put 2 mails togethe they will tight.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

They eat mealworms, wax worms, and crickets.
Crickets are the main thing they eat a long with mealworms.
You can also feed them 2 or 3 wax worms every 2 weeks.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

A small calcium dish is needed.Get some leo Calcium at the pet store.

Maintenance:

Clean the poop and change the water every day. Every month clean out the cage.

Some Words on this Species:

Leos are really good beginner lizards. (DO NOT PUT TWO MALES TOGETHER THEY WILL FIGHT.)
