Tail shape

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

Reptile bark or aspen beding or newspaper. Provide a large water dish because these snakes will soak in the water.

Lighting and UVB:

Milk snakes do not need UVB lighting.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Temperature in the range of 25oC to 30oC. Humidity around 50%. Night time temperture around 20 to 23 oC.

Heating and Equipment:

I use a 60 watt heat lamp for day time heat and a heat mat fof night time heat. The heat lamp i use is connected to a thermostat.

Caging Provided:

I use a 36 by 18 by 18 inch tank with slideing doors which i made myself. I provide cork bark hides, and rocks.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

I feed my milk snake a diet of mice (1 every 7 to 10 days). They may take rat pups, only adult snakes though.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

I dont use any supplements because milk snkes get a balenced diet from whole mice, aslong as the mice have been fed well.

Maintenance:

Easy, provide clean water every day and remove any soiled beding. Replace all the beding every 2 months.

Some Words on this Species:

A small snake, only 3 or 4 feet long. They make great pets. They will become tame easily, but may be shy at first. My one has never attempted to bite anyone.
