Sexing and Characteristics:

For Curly Tails native to Florida females have shorter tails, males having longer tails with more of a "curl" to it.

Mostly Active During:

Day

Substrate and Water Needs:

Substrate should be something that is easily burrowed in, and can keep humidity around 50%. I recommend using bed-a-beast. You can also use potting soil. Water should be supplied in a shallow dish at all times. The dish needs to be emptied, cleaned, and refilled daily as they tend to get filled with bedding.

Lighting and UVB:

UBV is recommended for around 12 hours a day.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Day temp: 85 F
Basking temp: 95 F
Night temp: 70-75 F

Humidity should be kept around 50-55%

Heating and Equipment:

Heating can be supplied with an under tank heater, and a heat lamp (with UVB bulb in it)

Caging Provided:

29g tank for a pair, 20g long for a single adult. Fill the tank with lots of plants, and logs to climb and hide on. Also supply a designated hiding area.

Diet:

Omnivorous

Description of Diet:

Mainly insect eaters feed them crickets,mealworms, and occasionally waxworms. Some accept fruit but fruit should rarely be offered.

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Dust food with calcium powder every other feeding.

Maintenance:

Spot clean tank when needed, prune any overgrown plants, and change the substrate every few months.

Some Words on this Species:

They are not much for being handled but are very beautiful lizards to keep. They are quite fun to watch.
