Species:

White Lip Python

Other Species or Phases this Care Sheet May Cover:

White Lip Pythons

Sexing and Characteristics:

Sexing: Females get bigger males stay small and have a nicer attitude then the females.

Characteristics: The body is a golden coppery color and the head is black with a bright white from the under belly and the lower jaw giving its name of white lip python

Mostly Active During:

Night

Substrate and Water Needs:

Substrate: Newspaper or carpeting is best i use carpeting. If you are looking for a more authentic look eco earth is best.

Water: A large water bowl is needed these snakes love to soak in the water. small White Lip pythons should have enough room to soak a juvenile can easily fit in a large circular water bowl or a small cat box as a water bowl.

Lighting and UVB:

UVA lighting is recommended mine loves to bask and it really brings out its true color. Keep it at a 25 watt bulb to contain appropriate temperature

Temperatures and Humidity:

79-86 degrees 79 at night maybe even 80 and at least 86 degrees.

Heating and Equipment:

Heat pad for under the hide to keep warm when hiding

Caging Provided:

These snakes love to climb so i supplied an arboreal cage a 29 is the trick here. A 40 is minimum at adult baby can easily fit in a 20 tall but a juvenile a 29 is best. Lots of branches and vines. A hide log and or box. 2 hides is minimal one on cool one on warm.

Diet:

Carnivorous

Description of Diet:

White lips can be picky as new borns most white lips are wild caught and can easily change their diet. If wanting a good eater get a juvenile they seem to eat much better then the babies

Supplements, Nutrition and Usage:

Maintenance:

Water cleaning is almost everyday depending. bacteria will grow at a fast pace and they tend to poop in the water this may cause water blister. Depending on Bedding and how messy it is if the snake is on carpeting or newspaper it should be cleaned daily if on eco earth once a month should be good.

Some Words on this Species:

The species is a very pretty snake. I would not recommend the snake for first time python owners. They are very nippy and are very fast and most are wild caught. But if you are really serious look up as much as you can and enjoy.
