Sexing and Characteristics:

I use a system, which is not a proven way but most of the time it works. I have breed blue tongues successfully by looking under them at their belly. If it is pink or orange when they are warm it tends to be a female. But, note when they are warm. If they have a white belly when they are warm they tent a male. Other then that you can take them to a vet to be sure.

Mostly Active During:

Day

Substrate and Water Needs:

Substrate
Most people would recommend a bark or much but I find that get very dirty I recommend something like the recycled newspaper cat litter called Breeders Choice or another good one is Max’s cat litter for babies, juveniles and adults.
Water
I use a nice size water bowl that they can cool down in as well as drink from. Note must have fresh water every day.

Lighting and UVB:

Lighting
I just use a down light transformer and globe with out cover as it provides heat, uva rays, uvb rays and gives a nice effect.

Temperatures and Humidity:

Temperatures
I have a thermostat to keep my heated side at a steady 35°c or 95°f the other side I just let it go to any temperature as that way they can escape the heated side if it gets to hot.
Humidity
I have the Humidity level at about 55 percent and they seem to thrive.

Heating and Equipment:

Heating
I use a 20watt heater mat plugged into a Probe Thermostat Model THATO40 and I have had no problems.
Equipment
water bowl, heater mat, probe thermostat, down light globe, down light transformer and cave

Caging Provided:

Caging
I transformed an old TV/stereo cabinet into a reptile cage by building a litter tray out of wood and the self I in stored down lights on it and did my own wiring it is quite easy I can email you the plans if you would like to know more.
