1/3 of the cage should be water, the land should be kept wet too.

Just put a lamp by the lil’ guy
Temperatures and Humidity:
They tolerate room temperature (70 F/21 C) but will be happier at slightly lower temperatures - 68 F (20 C) or a bit lower are more ideal. At temperatures around 75 F (24 C) or higher, they will be stressed and susceptible to infections, particularly fungal infections.

I have a 2 gal. with a desk lamp above, i have a filter but it isn’t needed, it’s mostly water with medium rocks for land so my newt won’t swallow them. I have some plants in there too.

They eat crickets, bloodworms, things of that nature.

Maintenance:
Don’t hold your newt often, and hand feeding is a good idea to stop bacteria
